Ten illegal aliens detained near Custer

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- Undocumented workers from Mexico were taken into custody after a deputy sheriff at 2 a.m. spotted a pickup carrying 10 people.
Custer County Sheriff Greg Foster said the Immigration and Naturalization Service was notified when none of the occupants carried identification. They will be returned to Mexico.
A deputy spotted the pickup on Highway 16 north of Custer last Thursday. Riding in the cab and in the open bed were nine men and one woman.
"We don't often see a pickup with Mexican plates and full of people driving around at 2 in the morning, so it was kind of unusual," Foster said.
